Bob's Thought for the Week

As the expression says; I am putting the Thought for the week " to bed."  Thank you for the kind thoughts that have been either said, in person or by email as they provided me with encouragement to express the " thoughts" over the past 10 years.  May God truly bless and enrich your lives.    Bob

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK OF 22 JANUARY 2012

" Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace. We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future."     Ephesians 4:2-4 NLT

Tributes to the Bible

This book contains the mind of God, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers.

Its doctrine is holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy.

It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveller’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s character.

Here heaven is opened, the gates of hell disclosed.

Christ is its subject, our good its design, the glory of God its end.

It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.

Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully.

It is a mine of wealth, and a river of pleasure.

It is given to you here in life, will be opened at the judgement, and is established forever.

It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labour, and condemns all who trifle with its sacred contents.
